This reading/writing activity was created by Sheryl Hazelbaker, MA, with the Oklahoma Assistive Technology Center, University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, Department of Rehabilitation Sciences, in Cooperation with the Oklahoma State Department of Education, Special Education Services. This activity is a very low tech way for all students (verbal/non-verbal & varying cognitive abilities) to display their opinion of a text. Laminate and cut the like/dislike picture symbols and place them back to back with a Popsicle stick between them. When you ask if the students liked/or disliked the entire story or certain sections of the book they are able to hold up their stick to display their opinion.
