symbols for subdivision of a song folder. children are able to select theire favorite songs without written language. my proposal for the subdivision (compare file): - celebration > birthday > easter > carnival, st.martin (german:other country another) > christmas - communication > welcome and say good bye > games and motion > emotion and "fun-songs" > "life practical" and body consciousness > friendship and love - seasons > spring, summer... etc - "songs with animals" - "rock- and pop-music for children" i commend to use the same category-items for all song-pages in the folders and add one or two significant pictures about the song content important for the pupils: - use sign language for significant song-contents and - prefer songs wich repeat additional refrain-contents to support the short-term memory - use a great variety of musical intruments wich allow participation and activity for all pupils
